St Albans is a Western suburb of Melbourne that is home to people from every wave of migration since the 1950s. This merging of immigrated cultures brings with it issues surrounding identity, cultural differences and isolation. These challenges can also be exacerbated by the crime, drug use and family violence present in the neighbourhood.
Despite these hurdles, the community pursues a celebration and expression of culture that brings the people of St Albans together. The diversity brings a unique vibrancy and energy to the community, culminating in the bustling Town Centre.
We seek to partner with the community as we engage with the local youth and young families.
