Identify Camp 2016
Empathy is the ability to step into another’s shoes, to look at life from another’s perspective.
Empathy is more than just sympathy. By truly imagining, and looking at life through someone else's eyes, we may begin to see it as they do. The unknown stranger becomes known. And perhaps, we may see that we are the same.
Because of this, empathy has the ability to be a tool for social change. Empathy may be the power to transform ourselves — and some of the biggest issues facing our society.
At Urban Seed, we strive for an empathic world. We have sought to meet the stranger; to imagine what life is like for them, and have begun to see ourselves in them and discover our shared humanity.
Be a part of Identify 2016: a 4 day, 3 night camp in the April school holidays — an immersion experience that will engage your empathy for the other.
You’ll be living in the Melbourne CBD alongside Urban Seed Mission Associates, who are the heart and soul of what we do, as you learn to walk in the shoes of others.
There’ll be opportunities to learn, challenges to undertake and fun to be had.
It’s the second week of the holidays, April 4 to 7, for year 10s, 11s and 12s.
There’s only 15 spots so apply now below. The full cost of the camp is $250.
Applications extended to Saturday March 19.
After completing the form below, you will be emailed a parental information sheet and permission slip as well as an invitation for an interview before participation will be confirmed.
