Community Building
The aim of Urban Seed’s Street and Hospitality Team is to build community with people who find themselves marginalised or excluded from the mainstream. We aim to see people who are struggling with multiple issues connect with others who can be a positive life-influence.
We encourage people to give to others in voluntary service and provide ways to do so. Weekly administration and worship meetings are open to all who come to lunch. Regular volunteers can join the Credo Team. The team meets fortnightly and aims to include and empower all involved to plan activities and act on feedback about how lunch is running. Training is provided for this group, including food safety, community safety, handling violent situations, and referral.
We encourage relationships formed in Credo Café to extend to other activities outside of the Credo Café space. This includes:
• Outdoor activities
• Day trips
• Credo cricket team which takes part in the annual RecLink Cricket competition.
