Urban Seed Youth & Schools Programs
Every year Urban Seed speaks to thousands of school students, leading interactive walks around the city and running creative workshops that address homelessness, addiction and community involvement. Schools can book from a range of individual City Walks & Seminars. We are also able to combine several sessions over one or more days as part of a retreat day or city experience program.
Information about contacting us and arranging bookings is here.

The Youth and Schools Team is doing Run Melbourne - join us!
Students and teachers regularly ask us what they can do to support Urban Seed and often we’ve found ourselves short of helpful, practical answers. This year we’d like to encourage you to come and walk/run with us to help us raise money for our work with those struggling with homelessness.
Every year thousands of people come together to participate in one of Australia’s biggest fundraising events, Run Melbourne. This time we’re going to join them and would love you to come too. People can sign up for varying levels of physical exertion but the key is to get sponsorship as a fundraiser for Urban Seed. Once signed up people can build their own online fundraising page and send it to friends, family and work colleagues seeking donations.
On the day we’re hoping to have Credo Cricketers, staff, volunteers, people who come to lunch at Credo, school students, teachers and business people all participating together. We hope that we’ll raise money for our work but even more importantly create connections and a sense of community between a diverse group of people for a common cause.
Run Melbourne is now taking registrations. To register online go to
www.runmelbourne.com.au. If you want to run with us then join our team by selecting Urban Seed in the team section of registration. Once registered, you will be prompted to create a fundraising page; you can even create a fundraising team for your whole school if lots of people would like to participate.
Alternatively you could sponsor
Tim,
Samara or
Blythe!

Youth & Schools Intern
The Urban Seed Youth and Schools Team is always looking to develop and expand its work informing and educating young people around issues such as homelessness, substance abuse, mental health, addiction and family breakdown. Our work aims to not only educate but also inspire young people as they begin to engage with these challenges, look for answers and find stories of hope.
We are currently accepting applications for a one day per week internship for 2010. If you are personally committed to responding to some of the injustices of our society, enjoy connecting with high school students, are passionate about quality education and would like to learn from a small community organisation like Urban Seed then please contact
Tim Jeffries or phone the Youth & Schools office on 03 9663 0699. We'd love to hear from you.
