Bendigo
Edge
We support youth and local schools through a leadership development program called Urban Seed
Edge in Eaglehawk Secondary College and Crusoe College in Bendigo through a partnership with
Hiphopportunities for Youth.
Many youth in here face issues of educational disengagement, substance abuse, mental health & family breakdown. Since 2007, Edge has used the tools of outdoor education and more recently hiphop dance for personal & community development. After 2½ months of weekly discussions & activities, the group participates in exciting outdoor trips and experiences. These provide the basis for reflection on key issues such as family, violence, aspirations and spirituality. Dave Fagg co-ordinates this program and Dani is the project worker.
